Halfway Through the Year: A Mindset Check-In to Help You Regroup and Refocus

We’re halfway through the year, can you believe it?!
For many of us, June arrives with that familiar mix of “Where did the time go?” and “I thought I’d be further along by now.” If you’re feeling a little behind, scattered or unsure what you need next, this point in time could be perfect for regrouping and refocusing!
Mid-year is a powerful time to pause, check in with yourself and gently course-correct.

Looking back on the Past Year
This time last year, I was in a very different place — quite literally!
I’d just set off on a journey that had been calling me for a while: travelling solo, exploring alternative ways of living, learning about self-sufficiency, expanding my knowledge and understanding of human behaviour through the completion of an NLP course and walking part of the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
The Camino is more than just a walking route. It’s a mindset. It reminded me that progress isn’t always fast or linear. Sometimes it’s about trusting the next step, even when the destination feels unclear.
One year on, I’m still reflecting on what that journey taught me and how often we forget to notice just how far we’ve come.
So if you’ve been feeling stuck, unmotivated or just not yourself lately, I’d like to offer a simple practice that might help.
A Mid-Year Mindset Check-In Exercise
Find a comfortable spot, set aside 10–15 minutes, grab a pen and paper and try these prompts:
What am I proud of from the past 6 months?(Even if it feels small. Especially if it felt hard.)
Where have I been holding myself back and why?
What would a ‘good second half of the year’ look like for me?
What’s one small step I can take this week to support that vision?
You don’t need a grand plan. You just need to notice what’s working, what’s not and what you want more of.
